The "Tenute Priori & Galdelli", a young company with a great past, stands on the splendid hill of Rosora, in the Marche hinterland.
Humble peasant origins and a lot of sacrifice pushed Priori Giuseppe and Galdelli Elia, in 1974, to start their own company. They bought new land, planted vineyards and built their cellar.
With the entry into the company of the eldest son Giancarlo there was a turning point. New initiatives and projects that culminated with the arrival of the third son Andrea, together with whom in 2011 they built the modern company structure, equipping it with modern technologies and expanding the range of products. All under the advice of the oenologist Sergio Paolucci.
Today the "Tenute Priori & Galdelli" extend over an area of 30 hectares, 20 reserved for vineyards, 2 for olive groves and the rest for arable land. Verdicchio, a native vine par excellence, is dominant and is grown on 17 ha. The rest are dedicated to red grape vines.
Fossil remains still testify to the presence of the sea during the Pliocene (3/5 million years ago). Dense forests that covered these places for centuries, were razed to the ground by Benedictine monks around the sixteenth century, to make way for the cultivation of vines. In the various convents scattered throughout the territory the monks refined their consultancy becoming skilled winemakers. Rosora falls within the classic area of production of Verdicchio, a native and predominant vine in the territory. Gentle hills and austere gullies, surrounded by the typical Mediterranean scrub, are the setting for splendid vineyards. Thanks to the different morphology of the soils, sandy and fertile, ideal for the cultivation of white grapes, limestone and clay for those with red grapes, they are obtained wines of excellent and great structure.
